Laser assisted uvulopalatoplasty (LAUP) is an office procedure to treat snoring and mild to moderate sleep apnea. Under local anesthesia, a laser is used to reduce the length of the soft palate and uvula similar to uvulopalatopharyngoplasty. Often more than one treatment is needed.
