Invisible Open Technology

Resound has introduced its newest hearing instrument called the be. This sophisticated digital instrument sits naturally and invisibly in the ear, resulting in comfort that’s second to none. In addition, the microphone and tubing of the be are hidden in the ear’s natural contours, providing a natural suppression of wind noise.

Resound pioneered and perfected the Open fit technology that alleviates any plugged up sensation. The be represents the newest class of hearing instruments called Invisible Open Technology (IOT). It is designed with a special design feature called, MultiVenting™ that allows air to travel freely in and out of the ear. This allows the patient to hear his or her own voice, and those of others, as naturally as possible.

The be is not a custom fit digital instrument. The processor portion of the device is a standard size that Resound believes will fit 80% of women and 90% of men who fall within the fitting range. The be will fit hearing losses with a mild to moderate hearing loss range. It is also available in two technology levels. The b9 is powered by Resounds’ best processor and features an Environmental Optimizer™ that allows the volume setting to be set to seven different listening environments. The be7 also includes Resounds’ 17-Band Warp™ processing which closely mimics how the inner ear process sound.

To introduce the be instruments to our patients, we are offering the b9 for $2399, a savings of $301 off the normal price of $2700. Two can be purchased for $4800 (savings of $600). The b7 has a special price of $1899 ($301 savings) and for two the price is $3800 (a $600 savings). This promotion ends in December, 2008.
